We've had our phone number 10 years and we still get collection calls for the guy who had our number before us. I finally told one of the agents that if this number was given out in the last 10 years it was given out fraudulently. They were also lovely enough to have a second line forwarded into our number in order to avoid collection calls. It took an observant collection agent to figure that one out. When she called our number she got me and them when she would try the secondary number she would get me again. At least she believed me that I wasn't bullshitting her and she quit calling us. Most of them think that I'm lying and keep calling anyway. Thank goodness we now have caller id but I still end up returning their messages and telling them not call here.

Too funny! When I first got my phone number I had men calling me from prison, bill collectors and other sundry governmental agencies looking for the lovely woman who had this number previously. I think this is one reason I refuse to get facebook.... I see the people I like already!
