Adventures in Facebook land

We finally buckled and got facebook pages. The peer pressure was just too much. I must say I am surprised at the people who want to be my friend. I looked up people I considered friends and gave them a friendship request but I’m getting requests from people that I went to school with and didn’t even exchange 5 words with! So do you cave into the pressure and accept their request or do you ignore it? I think we should be able to have personalized options such as:

No, I’d rather pierce my clit with a knitting needle.

No, because your asshat removal surgery obviously was unsuccessful.

You wouldn’t piss on me if I was on fire in school and now you want to be my “friend”?!

No, but I hope that STD you spread through out the school cleared up nicely.

Yes, because even though I can’t stand you, I don’t have the self esteem to turn you down. I guess I’d rather have 342 “friends” I hate with a passion than only 27 that I love dearly.

It is so interesting to see the high school politics playing out on the internet. Everyone wants shit loads of popular friends. No one has the balls to deny the “cool” people. Well I’m going to stick with the people I consider friends or want to be friends with and try not to get sucked into all the bullshit.

Uh, I thought you already did pierce your clit with a needle.. or was that a railroad tie? Hm

Welcome to the dark side. Soon you’ll be as gone as the rest of us!

I’m considering accepting some “friends” and asking them in my acceptance why they suddenly want to be my friend. Just because we went to the same school, your sibling was in my class, or we have a mutual friend doesn’t mean that I want to have anything to do with you. Cold and bitchy? Yeah, probably but I really don’t care.

Todd, A railroad tie? Who have you been talking to? ;)

I had a similar experience of being inundated with “friend” requests from Facebook friend sluts. I ignored them unless they were hot chycks.

The worst is some girl you didn’t like or barely knew in high school now looking at your profile and seeing single, then they start sending you emails. I got on to find a couple of college friends not a dating service.

I’ve had my fair share of all of those experiences – people who never spoke to me in high school all of sudden wanting to know “What’s going on with my life.” Like they care. Then there are the ones who have found god. I get so sick of the jesus and god stuff.

Now one of my grade school teachers who was a cunt on a good day wants to be my friend. Every time I log in I have double the number of friend requests I had when I logged out! Facebook really needs a “Fuck Off” option!

I accidentally friended a girl I can’t stand, she slept with my boyfriend! (I had my Julie’s mixed up and friended the WRONG one.) Now, the ex is also a “friend” and if I “un-friend” the slut, do I look petty?
Wow, it really is just like high school!

  • Todd, May 17, 2009 @ 7:23 am

Jennifer, un-friend her. She slept with your boyfriend so who gives a rats ass what she, the SLUT, thinks?

  • East Bluff Barbie, May 17, 2009 @ 3:32 pm

Send her a message that says you thought she was someone else and then unfriend her. Something like, “Oops, I didn’t realize that you were the whore who slept with my boyfriend. Must unfriend your skanky ass. Toodles!”

Thanks for the useful info. It’s so interesting

Here’s is how I handled that problem. I put those “friends” in my limited profile, this way I can limit what they see. They can’t read my status updates, have access to only select pictures I want them to see, you can even limit work, job, contact info, as well.
